We were delighted to be invited to the opening of the new National Centre for Construction Excellence in Wolverhampton this week to demonstrate our pollution protection innovations to the Mayor of the West Midlands, Andy Street.
Along with Pro Earth, Sunbelt Rentals (formerly A Plant) and McAuliffe Group UK, the Brownfield experts, are supporting what will be Europe’s largest specialist construction and built environment hub.
The mayor said:
“The Black Country and its coal was at the forefront of the industrial revolution in the 1800s. Now, in the 21st century, it is time the region reclaimed its place as a world leader in construction.
“In establishing this centre, students will be able to learn state-of-the-art construction techniques and apply them to derelict brownfield sites across the region.
“By regenerating run-down former industrial land using brand new skills and techniques, our workers will become the envy of the world. Soon our experts from across the Black Country will be in demand in China and Dubai, cleaning up polluted sites and building skyscrapers.”
It's also estimated that HS2 will bring an initial 10,000 jobs to the region and the college is ready to fullfil that need.
